Tissue paper flowers for party decorations

An inexpensive party decoration that is so much prettier than streamers. Most people have made these in grammar school or at some point during their childhood, but I’d forgotten how really beautiful they are. Playing around with different shapes and colors is creative and fun. I made these for a baby shower for a little girl but they’d also be great for a girl’s birthday party, bridal shower or Tea party!

1. Tissue paper package of 8 and opened packages.

First buy your chosen color or colors of tissue paper. Even if you only want to go with one color, I’d suggest you buy two shades of that color for contrast. If you can’t find a large package of tissue paper most gift stores, card stores or even the gift bag section of Walmart or Kmart carry an 8 pack of tissue paper. Open the package, and unfold the tissue paper. Have you ever been frustrated in finding good rate payday loans with fast approval? Well, now you can find such fast and profitable financial solutions

2. Tissue Paper cut in half.

Next take the 8 sheets and cut them in half.(leave full size for bigger flowers) Now you have 16 sheets. Take 6 to 8 sheets and lay them on top of each other making sure all the corners match up.

3. Finished folding.

Next take the tissue paper and fold it accordion style folding it over 1/2 inch to 1 inch then folding it back the other way. It should look similar to a fan when you open the folds.

4. One accordion style uncut and the next with rounded off edges.

To make rounded petals and a prettier flower, take a pair of scissors and round the edges at each end. To make petals that look like Dahlias cut a small slit in the middle of the round edges about 1 inch deep.

5. Tieing the floral wire around the middle of the folded tissue paper.

Next tie the middle together with floral wire, pipe cleaners or twisty ties from your garbage bags. =) Keep in mind how you will be displaying them. Are they going to tied to something or put in a vase? If so, you want long pipe cleaners or floral wire. If you are simply setting them on tables a small piece of wire will do.

6. Separating the tissue layers.

Now you are ready to open your flower. Carefully separate the tissue layers. Make sure to separate the left and right side towards the center to make your flowers shape more apparent. Be very careful when separating as not to tear the tissue.

7. Alternating colors…

After you’ve separated the layers play around with arranging them. Sometimes they need to be fluffed a little. To make the center another color simply make 2 of the 6 or 8 layers a contrasting color and put that color on the top of the pile before you start folding them. Or alternate the colors like the example here…

8. Baby shower for a little girl.

Now you are ready to display your flowers! =) Tie them on the back of chairs, arrange them on tables or in vases. They are super light weight and can go just about anywhere. Perhaps you want to hang them from the ceiling with fishing wire and a thumb tack. The possibilities are endless. Have fun!

Make a Flower Press Tips

Save money and make your own flower press with simple materials you can find around the house, or at your local craft or hardware store. This allows you to tailor your press to your specific needs.

Things You’ll Need:

2 pieces of scrap plywood or other thin wood

10 to 15 pieces of cardboard squares

20 to 26 pieces of watercolor or blotting paper

4 wing nuts with washers

4 4-inch screws

Drill with bit to match

1. Cut both pieces of wood to the desired size. Consider the size of plants you want to press in your flower press. 12 by 12 is a manageable size to work with. Just try www.ms-payday-loans.com when you need fast cash to fill up those medical bills or car repair, and gain the benefits of competitive rates applied on loan plans offered.

2. Drill four holes in each corner of the wood pieces. Use the same size bit as the screws you intend to use.

3. Trim the cardboard down to size so that it will fit between the pieces of wood. The corners will need to be trimmed at an angle to make room for the screws to go through the wood pieces only.

4. Repeat the same trimming process with the blotting paper.

5. Alternate the layers of cardboard and blotting paper and stack between the wood pieces as follows: cardboard, 2 pieces of blotting paper and cardboard. Continue this pattern for as many layers as you like.

6. Collect flowers to be pressed and place them between the two pieces of blotting paper and cardboard. Continue layering.

7. Slide the screw up from the underside of the press and slide the washer and wing nut on the exposed screw. Tighten the wing nut onto the pieces of wood. (This tightening is the process that presses the flowers.)

These are How to Plant an Annual Flower Garden

Planting a flower garden in the backyard is one of the many joys of home ownership. Deciding what style of flower garden to plant is a different story since there are so many kinds to choose from. If you are a beginning flower gardener, start by planting an annual flower garden which can be less intimidating than a perennial garden. Read on to learn how to plan an annual flower garden.

Things You’ll Need:
Spade
Soil Thermometer
Flower Pots

Prepare an Annual Flower Garden

1. Prepare the garden bed by digging one spade deep and turning the soil over. Avoid using soil that is too rich or the flowers will have lush leaf growth and minimal flower blooms.

2. Sow hardy annuals as plants or seeds in the spring when the soil is at least 45 degrees F. Warm weather annuals will not germinate in cool conditions.

3. Spread seeds over a large prepared area or plant annual flower plants in rows.

4. Place the annual flower garden in an area with proper sunlight and moisture for the flowers chosen. Sow half-hardy annuals in pots or containers that can be moved indoors if the weather turns chilly.

5. Prepare early annual plants that were started indoors before placing in the prepared garden area. Set the plants outside during the day and bring indoors at night so they get used to the new environment. Garden center annuals should be alright to plant directly outdoors.

6. Choose annual flowers to transplant that have healthy growth, well-developed flower buds, no yellowing of leaves and no leggy stalks.

Plant an Annual Flower Garden

1. Place the annual flowers in other areas of the garden as filler plants since they grow fast and are an inexpensive option.

2. Use annual flowers in the alpine rock garden where perennials are planted until the alpines get established.

3. Plant annual flowers in a garden blend of colors, textures and heights.

4. Cultivate annual flowers like pink alyssum or white candytuft as ground covers for large areas or drive entrances.

5. Sow climbing or trailing flowers such as nasturtiums, morning glories and canary creepers along rock walls, fences and trellises.

6. Choose annual flower plants for window boxes and cut flower gardens. Zinnias and Shasta daisies are annual favorites that come in a rainbow of colors.

7. Plant snapdragons, cornflowers and sweet peas for an annual garden of cutting and drying flower types.

8. Include the many varieties of marigold in the annual flower garden. Marigolds come in many colors, a variety of heights and as single or double blooms. The seeds are easy to harvest and replant the following year.

Tips for Line Flower Beds

Creating an outline for your flower beds makes your gardening project look polished and complete. With a variety of landscaping materials, such as railroad timbers, bricks, stones or fencing, you can design a lining that compliments your home and sets off your flower beds.

Things You’ll Need:
Edging material
Shovel
Sand
Hose

1. Select the edging materials of your choice. You can use small stones, bricks, pavers, railroad ties or fencing. Make your choice based upon the way the product coordinates with your home and flowers and consider how much work you are willing to put in to install the landscaping materials.

2. Dig down deep enough to lay a shallow layer of sand to promote drainage. You’ll need to create a level surface and add the sand to it. For railroad ties or for a more casual look, you need only dig down far enough for the first tier to be secured into the ground without showing a gap.

3. Lay the landscaping material you’ve chosen around your gardening beds. Bricks can be laid flat, upright or leaning to one side. Railroad ties should be laid so any cuts are staggered. Stones need to be laid carefully to ensure strength, especially if you’re laying more than one tier.

4. Push any fencing material or plastic edging directly into the ground. Use stakes to secure your lining in place if this is recommended by the manufacturer’s directions.

5. Hose down your completed edging. Not only does this clean up the dirt and debris from installation, it also helps the material set in place.

Build a Raised Flower Bed Video

1. Decide on and mark out the area for the flower bed. Also decide on how tall and what materials you plan to use to make your flower bed. If possible, dig the soil under the bed to loosen and aerate it.

2. Using the stakes, mark the outline or corners of your bed. Position the stones or boards along the edges. (Boards will probably require a post or corner brackets to secure them in place.) In cold regions where heavy frost can occur, bury the bottom of your bed 1-3 inches below the soil’ s surface.

3. Add more layers to the raised bed if desired. However, keep simple beds such as this to no more than 18 inches in height to keep them from tumbling. Fill with good quality top soil and compost.

4. Place your plants and water well. You can also mix in or sprinkle on time released fertilizer granules before or after you plant.

Maybe you think you’re a winner, because of your insult towards me… the problem is that an insult like that, without a real motivation and/or explanation, sounds absurd and senseless.

Apart from that.

What do you think you’re building, with an attitude like that?

What kind of world are you building, in that way?

Are you making the world a better place for yourself and for who will come after you?

Please, do a favour to yourself and think about it.
